Wamp Announces Funding for Anderson Water Line
U.S. Rep. Zach Wamp, R-Tenn., announced Monday he has secured $275,000 for a water line extension in the Park Road area of Anderson County. Wamp said the money is contained in a spending bill approved last week by the House Appropriations Committee. Wamp said the spending bill now moves to the full House for approval. Anderson County Utility Board Commissioner Rickey Rose said the new water line would serve nearly 150 homes along a four-mile stretch of Park Road. Rose said the new water line would also serve Anderson County Park and eliminate the need for the county to operate a separate public water system at the park that relies on well water. Rose said the total cost of the water line project is pegged at $500,000, and the county had filed a request for $275,000 in federal help. Wamp said residents in the area have been depending on "unreliable well water.'' |
